He married  Sarah Margaret Manuel  29 December 1881.  She is the daughter of Philip Manuel and Sarah M. Black.  She was born 29 September 1859 in Polk County, Missouri.  She died 29 July 1888. He married  Rhoda Adeline Welch  22 April 1891.  She is the daughter of Jesse Welch and Martha Jane McCrory.  She was born 17 December 1865 in Polk County, Missouri.  She died 27 December 1953 in Mason City, Iowa.
