Joe Stout Fish Fry
The Second Annual Joe Stout Fish Fry was held on May 17, 2003 in Granville, Jackson County, Tennessee where Gene Carter, my father-in-law, asked the blessing on the dinner. Joe Stout is my wife's uncle on her mother's side. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves to hunt and fish. He takes advantage of living close to the Cordell Hull Lake and fishes regularly. Just ask Sue, his wife. Not only does he go fishing often but he is a very good fisherman, too. He freezes the fish that he catches and this is prepared and eaten at the fish fry. Thanks, Uncle Joe!
Young and old alike enjoy the food, fun, and family fellowship. Four or possibly five generations are represented here and we all had a great time.
The kids love the water and manage to get their feet wet even though they have been told not to do so!
The fish and all the food were absolutely great! It is hard to beat a pot luck dinner prepared by Southern cooks! Joe provides the fish and is the head cook, as there is no chef here. He was ably helped by his son, Jerry, and his nephew, Paul. They had a regular production line going! The families provided all the rest of the food and the desserts. I get hungry just thinking about it! I tried to eat as much of the desserts as possible so others wouldn't be tempted to do so.
There were so many present that I could not get them all into a single photo and still recognize them!
