He married  Liva Mae Rector  19 September 1915 in Cookeville, Putnam County, Tennessee.  She was the daughter of Isaac Rector and Mary Flatt.  She was born 17 June 1898 in Monterey, Putnam County, Tennessee.  She died 12 February 1969 in Miami Valley Hospital Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.
