He married  Lillie Mae Brown  5 August 1923 in Cookeville, Putnam County, Tennessee.  She was born 21 October 1900 in Bloomington Springs, Putnam County, Tennessee.  She died 21 January 1963 in Bloomington Springs, Putnam County, Tennessee.
