He died 29 September 1979 in Peru, Indiana. He married Dora Kathren Roberts the daughter of Hizer Francis Roberts and Angeline Samantha Kirklin. She was born in 13 September 1903 in Putnam County, Tennessee and died 31 August 1966 in Peru, Indiana. She is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery.
